Deep Roots Circle is a small live virtual experience for working women living with chronic illness, navigating caregiving, or making sense of life after caregiving. It brings women together for honest conversation, thoughtful reflection, different perspectives, relevant information, and practical exploration of what fits their lives now.
You can bring what is true today.
DEEP ROOTS CIRCLE
The life you’re trying to maintain may have been built around a different capacity than the one available to you now.
Chronic illness, caregiving, and life after caregiving rarely affect only one part of life. Work, health, relationships, responsibilities, finances, expectations, available support, and your own wants can all operate at the same time, often by different rules.
A demanding workday may collide with pain or fatigue. A change in someone’s care may arrive in the middle of a deadline. A caregiving role may shift or end while its effects on identity, relationships, routines, or capacity continue. Help may technically exist but require more time, energy, coordination, or money than you actually have available.
Deep Roots Circle creates room to look at what is happening where these realities meet, including what they are asking of you, what they cost, what you can influence, what support is genuinely available, and what matters to you now.
What happens when the realities of your life meet each other?
Sometimes the problem isn’t that you are failing to manage everything. The realities themselves may not fit together.
Life is a Journey
Deep Roots Circle is one place along the way
You don't arrive at Deep Roots Circle with a blank page. You bring everything you've already lived through, figured out, carried, adapted to, grieved, accomplished, and learned along the way.
Chronic illness, caregiving, or life after caregiving may have changed the course of that journey. Your capacity may change. Work may ask more of you or expect things to remain the same. Relationships and responsibilities may shift. What mattered a year ago may not be what matters now.
Deep Roots Circle gives you a place to understand where you are, recognize the strength you've already been using, and explore where you want to go from here.
Where you’ve been matters
You may be so accustomed to managing appointments, deadlines, symptoms, care needs, family responsibilities, work expectations, recovery, changing roles, and everything in between that you no longer recognize how much you've actually been carrying. Over time, it can also become harder to see what you've adapted around, what has come to feel fixed, or what you may be able to change.
The Circle gives you space to look at that experience differently, including the strength, knowledge, and resourcefulness you've developed along the way.
Where you are matters
Life doesn't happen in separate compartments. Health concerns, caregiving responsibilities, or the changes that remain after caregiving can collide with work, relationships, finances, expectations, goals, and the amount of capacity you have available on any particular day.
The Circle gives you a place to bring those realities into the same conversation, hear what other women notice and have experienced, and consider perspectives or possibilities you may not have reached on your own.
Where you want to go, belongs to you
There is no prescribed destination or expectation for where you should end up.
You may have something you want to change, protect, pursue, rebuild, ask for, let go of, or finally make room for. Sometimes that means slowing down. Sometimes it means asking for support. And sometimes it means deciding something matters enough to push for it.
Deep Roots Circle gives you a place to explore those choices, recognize meaningful milestones along the way, and decide what fits the life you're actually living.
What happens inside the Circle?
Deep Roots Circle is built around conversation, reflection, perspective, and connection. You bring what is happening in your life and what you know from living it. Jennifer brings skilled facilitation, thoughtful questions, workplace knowledge, research, relevant information when useful, and perspective shaped by professional and lived experience. The Circle helps you notice patterns, question assumptions, and consider perspectives you may not have seen on your own.
Purposeful Conversation
Each gathering has a focus that gives the conversation a place to begin. You can bring questions, experiences, observations, and ideas that are relevant to what is happening in your life. As the conversation develops, one person’s experience may spark recognition, a question may open another direction, or something someone says may help you see your own situation differently.
Different Perspectives
Someone else in the Circle may notice something you’ve come to see as just the way things are, ask a question that shifts how you see it, or offer a perspective you had not considered. Sometimes the value is simply having someone understand why a choice that looks straightforward from the outside is not straightforward in your life.
Thoughtful Reflection
The Circle creates space to pause long enough to notice what you may have been moving past. Reflection helps you recognize patterns, reconsider assumptions, connect experiences that may have seemed separate, and better understand what feels important now.
Meaningful Connection
Being with women who understand some of what you’re living can make connection feel more meaningful. You can bring what matters most into the conversation, hear where others recognize parts of your experience, and recognize parts of theirs in return. Those moments of mutual understanding create connection around something real.
Jennifer brings knowledge and perspective shaped by professional and lived experience. You bring knowledge and perspective shaped by your own life. Together, we create something none of us could create alone.
